Everton Player Ratings vs Chelsea in the Premier League

Chelsea were held to a goalless draw at home by a stubborn Everton unit in the Premier League on Sunday. It was a game that promised a lot but neither team was able to break the deadlock in the ninety minutes.

The Blues dominated possession and called Jordan Pickford into action several times in both the halves. Chelsea were arguably the better side D26290E4-4485-4EAE-81A2-66D1EEB40A9D$device.mojom.TimeZoneMonitor appbrowser web_cache.mojom.WebCacheur*/

4. Yerry Mina (7/10)

Pretty solid outing for the Colombian on his first full game for the Toffees. Stood strong and powerful at the back even when Chelsea were throwing caution to the winds.

5. Lucas Digne (6.5/10)

Played some good crosses into the box and did a decent job against Willian at the back barring a couple of instances when the Brazilian got the better of him.

6. Andre Gomes (6.5/10)

He is proving to be a very good signing for Marco Silva. Did a good job to disturb the rhythm of Chelsea’s midfield, cut out the attacks and played some neat passes.

7. Idrissa Gana Gueye (7/10)

He played a very important role for Everton in central midfield. Used his tenacity to restrict Jorginho’s impact on the game; broke up the play and carried the ball forward with energy- a tidy performance overall.

8. Theo Walcott (6/10)

Not a very good outing for the former Arsenal man. Let the team down with some poor touches in promising positions and his decision-making in the final third wasn’t up to the mark.

9. Bernard (6.5/10)

Showed a lot of promise in the first half with a good strike from range but lacked his usual sharpness and faded away as the game progressed.

10. Gylfi Sigurdsson (7/10)

Arguably Everton’s best creative player of the game. He was at the centre of everything Everton did; dropped deep to cut out the attacks and played some remarkable passes but his teammates weren’t able to make the most of those chances.

11. Richarlison (6/10)

Have to give him full marks for putting in the hard yards. Can’t blame him much as Everton did not have too much possession to provide him with adequate service.

Not much time to make an impact.
