Predicted Tottenham XI to face Chelsea in the Premier League

Tottenham will have no respite as their next opponents are an in-form Chelsea side in the London derby. Mourinho’s side hasn’t picked up even a point in their last two outings and are losing pace in keeping up with the top sides.

Tuchel, on the other hand, will be buoyed by his first win and will want a repeat of that. It’s hard to see Spurs not dropping points against an energised Chelsea side but one can never know what surprise Mourinho can spring.

Team News

There will be a few injuries for Mourinho to navigate through. Star striker Harry Kane and outcast Dele Alli are ruled out. Even the likes of Ndombele, Reguilon and Lo Celso are no closer to participating. Expect a lot of changes in the game.

Probable Tottenham XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Hugo Lloris (GK)

The French custodian will be a bit concerned by the lack of clean sheets in recent games but does remain the first choice.

Joe Rodon (CB)

The youngster will face a stern test but will need to come up trumps in this vital game.

Eric Dier (CB)

Dier has now become a mainstay in defence. He has done decently in that role so far.

Toby Alderweireld (CB)

Will need to marshal his troops better after two straight losses.

Ben Davies (LWB)

With Reguilon ruled out, chances are that Ben Davies continues in his role.

Moussa Sissoko (CM)

Replaces the in-form Ndombele and will have to provide energy and dynamism to the side.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (DM)

Hard to point out any flaw in the former Southampton man’s game. Ever present in the team and will have a huge task to break down the opposition’s attacks.

Matt Doherty (RWB)

The summer signing will get a chance to feature and stake a claim for a starting spot.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-Min 7 scores a goal and celebrates to make the score 2-0 during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, United Kingdom on 2 January 2021.

Heung-Min Son (LW)

Will be Spurs’ most important player again and needs to keep firing on all cylinders.

Steven Bergwijn (RW)

Bergwijn has somewhat made this spot his own and with Bale still searching for form, he continues to start.

Carlos Vinicius (ST)

Automatic choice in the absence of the talisman Kane. Needs to shoulder some of the goal-scoring burden.
