Predicted Real Madrid XI to face Inter Milan in the Champions League

Real Madrid return to continental competition, with Inter Milan as their third round opponents. The Blancos are not really enjoying the best of starts to the Champions League, with a loss and draw in their first two games. They did however pick up the win over Huesca in La Liga, which should give them some confidence.

Inter Milan haven’t done too well either, with two draws in their first two group games. They are also coming on the back of a draw in the Serie A. Nonetheless, this is the premiere fixture of the group and three very important points are at stake.

Team News

Real Madrid are dealing with a slew of injuries, with the likes of Alvaro Odriozola, Nacho, Dani Carvajal and Martin Odegaard confirmed to be out of the fixture. Lucas Vazquez is a doubt for the game. Apart from that, most of the team will likely be available for selection.

Probable Real Madrid XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Thibaut Courtois (GK)

The undisputed No.1 for Madrid, Courtois will be hoping to get his first clean sheet in this year’s competition.

Ferland Mendy (RB)

Madrid are out of players who can fill in at this position, resulting in Mendy playing this one out on the right flank.

Sergio Ramos (CB)

Ramos is almost guaranteed to play this fixture as he aims to guide the team to a first win in the competition this year.

Raphael Varane (CB)

Should return in place of Militao given the importance of this fixture.

Marcelo (LB)

With Mendy having to man the right-back spot, Marcelo returns to his familiar place. Needs to make a good showing given how error-prone he has been in recent times.

Toni Kroos (CM)

There can be no doubts about the German playing. Reliable as ever, his passing will be vital to Madrid’s progression from defence to attack.

Federico Valverde (CM)

The youngster might be given the nod ahead of Modric. A great performance during the weekend ensures that his place is safe in the team.

Casemiro (CDM)

The Brazilian will be tasked with protecting the backline as usual. Will be hoping to provide something like he did in the Gladbach game.

Marco Asensio (RW)

It was a difficult choice between Asensio and Rodrygo. We decided to go with Asensio for this one due to the importance of this game.

Karim Benzema (CF)

The veteran striker is likely to lead the line for Los Blancos. He will be hoping to get on the score sheet.

Eden Hazard (LW)

The Belgian finally scored for his side during the weekend and everyone can breathe a sigh of relief. Was substituted early though but is very likely to start this one.
