Predicted Aston Villa XI to face Leicester City in the Premier League

Aston Villa visit the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City as they resume Premier League duties. Not even in their wildest dream could Villa have expected that result against Liverpool. Slamming 7 goals past the defending champions is by no means an easy feat, yet they made it look that way.

Leicester are coming off a hammering at the hands of West Ham and will no doubt be a bit worried about this fixture. Dean Smith’s side have won all their league and EFL Cup ties this season and have all the momentum. Expect goals from this game.

Team News

There will be a few names who will likely miss the trip to Leicester such as Wesley. Defenders Kortney Hause and Bjorn Engels are doubts along with goalkeeper Tom Heaton. Other than that, Dean Smith will have most of his squad to take a pick from.

Probable Aston Villa XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Emiliano Martinez (GK)

The former Arsenal man will be hoping for a clean sheet this time as he could do little to prevent the two goals last time.

Matt Targett (LB)

Target keeps his place as left-back after the Liverpool game.

Tyrone Mings (CB)

Villa’s best defender for a while now. Won’t have it easy against Jamie Vardy though.

Ezri Konsa (CB)

Dropped some good performances in the last few games. Keeps his place alongside Mings in the absence of Hause and Engels.

Matty Cash (RB)

Matty Cash has settled in well at the club and keeps his place on the right side of defence.

Douglas Luiz (DM)

He is repaying the faith shown in him. Provided ample protection to the backline with a collected performance against Liverpool.

John McGinn (CM)

McGinn is Villa’s midfield lynchpin. Without him, the team looks short on creativity.

Ross Barkley (AM)

What a debut for the new signing. A goal in his first game for the club and that too against Liverpool would have given him a lot of confidence.

Jack Grealish (LW)

Contributed to five goals in the last game as he almost got a hat-trick of his own. He is undoubtedly their best player and an undisputed starter.

Bertrand Traore (RW)

Might be given the nod ahead of Trezeguet. Will be hoping for more than just the few minutes of action.

Ollie Watkins (ST)

Ollie Watkins proved to everyone that Villa didn’t make any mistake with his signing. A hat-trick against Liverpool is something players dream of. Should be raring to have a crack at Leicester.
