Predicted Chelsea XI to face Burnley in the Premier League

Chelsea take on Burnley in the Premier League after the midweek European exploits that saw them thrash Krasnodar. The Blues

Burnley would be a little concerned coming into the fixture given that they are yet to win a single game this season and have 4 losses during that time. Expect Chelsea to start as hot favorites but Burnley can always provide that bit of resistance.

Team News

Chelsea just have one confirmed absentee due to injury, which is Billy Gilmour. There surely was a familiar face back in the team with Antonio Rudiger being given a chance. Frank Lampard will have his full squad to choose from. However, not a lot of changes from the midweek Champions League fixture can be expected.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Edouard Mendy (GK)

The reliable Mendy is back and is set to continue in goal for the time being.

Reece James (RB)

Was one of the more standout players in the Manchester United game. Played well as a wing-back.

Thiago Silva (CB)

Missed out on the Champions League game with Lampard citing that he needed to rest and manage his minutes. Likely to be back for the weekend.

Kurt Zouma (CB)

Had a great game alongside Rudiger and he might be the first choice for a while now. Looked very assured and calm.

Ben Chilwell (LB)

Ben Chilwell is the undisputed starter at left-back now.

N’Golo Kante (DM)

Kante is slowly getting into his stride and will hope for another assured performance in the middle of the park after being rested in the midweek.

Jorginho (DM)

Lampard’s most trusted soldier, Jorginho will be looking to continue his excellent form.

Kai Havertz (AM)

Has blown hot and cold in the games he has played. Nonetheless, remains central to the team.

Mason Mount (RW)

One of the few academy graduates who is still a starter in most games. Needs to start showing numbers in front of goal soon as Hakim Ziyech is pretty much back to full fitness.

Timo Werner (ST)

Another goal will just add to his confidence. Looks like he is slowly settling in well into the team now.

Christian Pulisic (LW)

Got a much-needed goal after his long layoff and it will do him a world of good. Needs to be back to his best if Lampard wants to crack open a stubborn Burnley side.
