Predicted Arsenal XI to face Manchester United in the Premier League

Arsenal face off against rivals Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend. The Gunners are coming on the back of a Europa League win over Dundalk but are on a two-game losing streak in the league.

Manchester United are playing some of their best football and that can only add to Arteta’s problems. They have won 3 games in their last 4 games. Surely an exciting game could be on the cards with old foes reigniting their battle.

Team News

Only Gabriel Martinelli is a confirmed absentee due to injury. There do remain some doubtful names such as David Luiz, Calum Chambers, Pablo Mari and Rob Holding. Arteta might have to shuffle the defence a bit again to set the backline.

Probable Arsenal XI

Formation: 3-4-3

Bernd Leno (GK)

Should resume his duties after the midweek rest. Leno remains the first choice between the sticks.

Kieran Tierney (CB)

Returns to his new position of a left-sided centre-back after appearing as a substitute in the Europa League game.

Shkodran Mustafi (CB)

With Luiz still out with an injury he picked up last weekend, Mustafi might be continuing in his place for now.

Gabriel Magalhaes (CB)

A regular face in the backline for the club nowadays. Gabriel has settled in well at the back for Arsenal.

Hector Bellerin (RWB)

Another player who returns to the line-up after a midweek rest. Will be vital to Arsenal’s attacks down the right.

Thomas Partey (CM)

The new man is slowly getting into his stride for his new side. Should be fully set with a few more games under his belt.

Granit Xhaka (CM)

Had to play in a makeshift backline in the last game but will be hoping to return to his natural midfield position alongside Partey.

Bukayo Saka (LWB)

The youngster resumes his duties in his favoured position and will have to overcome the challenge of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang(LW)

The Arsenal captain really needs to rediscover his form as he has looked off-colour in recent weeks.

Alexandre Lacazette (ST)

Lacazette also needs to rediscover his goal-scoring form as he too is without a goal in quite a while.

Willian (RW)

Pepe might have been a good option here but given this is such a big game, Willian’s experience could be given the nod.
