Why Leicester City should take a risk and sign Marko Pjaca from Juventus
According to a report by Calciomercato, Leicester City are interested in signing Marko Pjaca from Juventus.
The Croatian winger is in desperate need of reviving his career and moving to Leicester will certainly provide him with a solid chance of doing so. With Claude Puel at the helm, the Foxes finished 9th last season. However, to challenge for a place in the top four, the club must make a few more signings before the transfer window slams shut.
To that end, a move for Pjaca seems like a decent option. Granted, his career has stagnated to a great extent but that does not undermine his talent.
In fact, back in 2016, he was one of Dinamo Zagreb’s finest players and was a solid force to reckon with across Europe. Juventus signed him that year and he was expected to make a strong impact for the Italian giants. However, things did not work out and Pjaca embarked on a downward spiral.
The Croatian winger succumbed to a serious ligament injury and from there on, he has struggled to regain full fitness. As things stand, Juve are filled to the brim with talented attackers and it did not take long for him to plummet down the pecking order.
To make matters worse, the club loaned him out to Schalke earlier in January but he failed to impress once again, making just 3 starts in the Bundesliga. For what it’s worth, Pjaca managed to score 2 goals during that time but Puel must work towards extracting the best out of the 23-year-old.
Pjaca is impeccably skilled and extremely versatile with his abilities. Blessed with blinding pace and quick feet, the player almost never fails to delight when he is in form. He can be quite creative as well, meaning he could create goalscoring opportunities for Jamie Vardy at Leicester.

With Riyad Mahrez out of the picture, Leicester must sign Pjaca to continue splitting open defences next season. Of course, there will be certain risks associated with the transfer but given the Croat’s potential, it is certainly one worth taking for the Foxes.
