Former WWE star Jon Moxley has been enjoying his time since moving to AEW and is the current world champion.

Formerly known as Dean Ambrose in WWE, Moxley has also been involved in some big and bloody fights in the new promotion.

Moxley hasn’t been seen in a lot of action over the past two weeks, but he has been working on a new movie.

The champion was speaking to Inside The Ropes and was asked about his meeting with Jake Hager. The pair fought for the title in a No Holds Barred match which Moxley won in the end.

Hager’s MMA history was something that was brought up and Moxley explained why he enjoyed fighting people with some experience in the Octagon:

“I am a champion now and I want my matches to feel like a contest. The cool thing about the Hager match, a lot of it was really a struggle. Pro wrestling is a little give and take, that’s what separates it from an actual fight. There’s always a little bit of give and take.

“Everything in the Hager match, especially in the first 10 minutes, was a struggle.”

Showing off Hager’s skills

Moxley also went on to say that he enjoys his matches which feature a scramble on a mat and submissions too.

However, the champion brought out the fact that wrestling is a give and take sport again. He added that such matches allowed Hager to show off his mat skills given his history in the NCAA.

The Hager vs Moxley match was one of the best in the short history of AEW. However, it took place in front of an empty crowd due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Hager was made to look dominant as he broke into the UFC, and it will be interesting to see if Hager gets a rematch against Moxley.
