The Premier League season now has drawn to a close and although this has left fans all around the world wincing, it’s now time to look back on a season that has been nothing short of spectacular.

Here’s our Premier League Team of the Season:

GK – Ederson

The Manchester City man didn’t win the official PL Golden Glove because he had one clean sheet lesser than Allison Becker but this certainly mustn’t be read too much into.

His performances along the campaign have been assured and he has proven that he’s comfortable with the ball at his feet.

RB – Trent Alexander Arnold

The Liverpool full-back has been a revelation since breaking into the side but has really taken it up a notch this season.

His barraging runs forward often leave defenders dumbfounded because of the sheer pace and strength the youngster generates. His pinpoint crosses were also one of Liverpool’s biggest assets this season.

CB – Aymeric Laporte

The Frenchman has come to the fore at the Etihad Stadium this season and his dominant displays at the back for City have been rewarded with the Premier League title.

He scored some crucial goals for Pep Guardiola’s side along the way and has also done an excellent job of commandeering even a weakened defence.

CB – Virgil Van Dijk

The Dutchman was the standout player for Liverpool this season and the fact that he stepped up at crucial times with important goals only adds to the decorations of what has been a truly memorable season of Premier League football.

He has come into the side and really taken control of proceedings by being the loudest voice out on the pitch.

LB – Andy Robertson

There’s a slight trend that’s starting to develop now and it’s quite clear to see why. Liverpool’s defence line has been excellent barring one centre-half. If any team was given a choice of a Liverpool defender though, there’s a good chance a lot of them would pick Robertson.

The speedster has been unstoppable since bursting onto the scene and looks like he’s here to stay as well.

RM – Sadio Mane

The Senegalese trickster has been on fire this season and even managed to score enough goals to match Mohamed Salah for the Golden Boot.

His displays have often been inspiring and this team’s “never say die” attitude is personified through the 27-year-old. His goals have come at vital times and his contributions in the final third have been remarkable as well.

CM – Bernardo Silva

The Portuguese star’s path into the Manchester City first-team was filled with multiple hurdles but the moment he was given a sustained chance, he ensured that he seized the opportunity.

His ability to keep the ball in tight spaces and also pick out some near-impossible passes make him one of the Premier League’s deadliest attackers.

CM – Georginio Wijnaldum

The Dutchman has been at the heat of the everything good that has gone on at Anfield this season and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he wasn’t let down by City’s title defence.

His starring displays have guided Liverpool to this rather unbelievable position and he’s stepped up during some key games as well making him one of their most important players.

LM – Eden Hazard

The Chelsea attacker was a solitary ray of hope in what was a rather lacklustre camp for long periods in the season.

Although they struggled, with Eden’s timely involvement, Chelsea have now secured Champions League qualification and he’s managed to score some truly historic goals along the way as well.

ST – Sergio Aguero

Manchester City’s hopes of a title defence were mainly mounted on Sergio Aguero’s shoulders as the Argentine striker was expected to score a majority of the goals for Pep Guardiola’s side.

As usual, the talismanic forward delivered the goods when it mattered and is an unquestionable addition to this side.
