Brighton player ratings vs Crystal Palace
Brighton and Hove Albion moved into the top ten in the Premier League standings with an emphatic 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at the Amex Stadium on Tuesday.
Glen Murray put the home side in the driver’s seat from the penalty spot before substitute Leon Balogun doubled the advantage with a stunning volley just after the half-hour mark.
Palace pushed for a comeback but another substitute Florin Andone sealed the game for the Seagulls in first-half stoppage-time with a wonderful solo goal.
Luka Milivojevic’s penalty late in the second half reignited hopes of a comeback but Chris Hughton’s men held on to their lead to bag all three points.

1. Matt Ryan (7/10)
Made some good saves and looked a reliable presence between the sticks. Dealt very well with the aerial balls and crosses that came his way but couldn’t do anything about the penalty.
2. Bernardo (7.5/10)
Brilliant display from the Brazilian left-back. Showed good awareness to clear Milivojebic’s shot off the line and kept Palace at bay.
3. Lewis Dunk (8/10)
A solid outing for the Englishman. Made some fantastic blocks and clearances and stamped his authority in the air.
4. Shane Duffy (5/10)
Looked quite solid in the early stages of the game but lost his cool and was sent off for a headbutt on Patrick van Aanholt.
5. Martin Montoya (8/10)
Slotted into the eleven after a long time and the former Barcelona man proved his worth. Kept Zaha at bay for large quarters of the game and showed some elegant touches on the ball.
6. Davy Propper (8.5/10)
The Dutchman ran the show for Brighton in the midfield. Immaculate with his passing and distribution and cut out the attacks to win possession back for his team.
7. Yves Bissouma (7/10)
Showed a lot of energy in midfield and was virtually everywhere.
8. Pascal Gross (5.5/10)
Showed glimpses of his quality with some fine passes before being subbed at the half-hour mark to cover for Duffy’s sending off.
9. Jose Izquierdo (6.5/10)
Added impetus to the attack from the flanks and won the penalty which was converted by Glenn Murray. Taken off early in the second half due to an injury.
10. Solly March (6.5/10)
Didn’t do much but added pace and flair to the attack. Kept the defenders on their toes and had a shot blocked in the first half.
11. Glenn Murray (6.5/10)
Kept his composure to convert the penalty but was subbed shortly after that due to an injury.
Substitutes
1. Florin Andone (7.5/10)
Scored a wonderful solo goal towards the end of the first-half as he received the ball down the left, outfoxed Tomkins and found the net from a very tight angle; should start the next game.

Scored with a stunning volley just minutes after coming on; gifted Palace a penalty with a foul on McArthur.
