Hamilton Academical vs Celtic prediction: Celtic line-up

Celtic travel to the Fountain of Youth Stadium as they take on Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

Neil Lennon’s men are coming to this game on the back of an easy 3-0 win over Ross County last weekend. They are five points ahead of second-placed Rangers, who have a game in hand and would be hoping to extend their lead with another three points.

Meanwhile, the Accies are enduring a poor time as they are currently second from the bottom in the league table. They would be hoping to do better after a 4-2 loss last weekend. Brian Rice’s men have previously made the Hoops work hard against them and something of the same can be expected this team around.

Team News

Celtic have a long list of injuries. Jeremie Frimpong, Hatem Elhamed, Mohammed Elyounoussi, and Nir Bitton are expected to be out of action.

Probable Celtic XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Fraser Forster (GK)

The Southampton loanee is a no brainer to start in goal for the Hoops. Kept a clean sheet in the previous outing and will hope to have a good game.

Moritz Bauer (RB)

The Austrian is expected to retain his spot after a good outing against Ross County. he featured in the last three games.

Christopher Julien (CB)

The Frenchman has been solid in the heart of the defence. He has displayed some outstanding performances and will be an undoubted starter in this fixture.

Kristoffer Ajer (CB)

The Norwegian has impressed so far alongside Julien and is expected to start ahead of Simunovic, who is facing fitness issues.

Jonny Hayes (LB)

Hayes is expected to return after missing out on a change in the formation against Ross County. He will play a key role while the team moves forward in attack.

Callum McGregor (CM)

McGregor has not been up to his best but has the quality to lift the team’s spirit. Nonetheless, the home-grown star has featured in all the games this season and is expected to continue in the middle of the park.

Scott Brown (CM)

A big-game player, Brown has been solid for the Hoops. He doesn’t seem to be slowing down despite being 34 and will lead the team as usual.

James Forrest (RW)

Forrest has been effective on either flank. His experience and quality could hold the key in this fixture. He is an undoubted starter

Olivier Ntcham (AM)

He started in the last two games and is expected to retain his spot in this role. The youngster needs to be developing his game to claim the spot for himself.

Ryan Christie (LW)

Christie could get a chance to start after serving out his suspension. And with Johnstone out with an injury, the 24-year-old will be starting more often in the games to come.
