Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester City XI to face Watford in the Premier League

Manchester City continued their winning run in the Premier League with an emphatic 3-1 win over Bournemouth in their last game and the Citizens will once again be strong favourites when they make the trip to Vicarage Road to face Watford on Tuesday.

Pep Guardiola’s men are on a goalscoring spree this season, having scored 43 already and few would back against them adding to that tally against Watford.

Watford lost 2-0 to Leicester City last week and Javi Gracia’s men will have to produce nothing short of a miracle to upset the odds.

Team News

Sergio Aguero and Oleksandr Zinchenko are doubtful to feature in the mid-week clash while Kevin de Bruyne continues to be on the sidelines to nurse his knee injury.

Benjamin Mendy, Claudio Bravo and Eliaquim Mangala are all ruled out with long-term injuries.

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Predicted XI

1. Ederson (GK)

He will be disappointed for not keeping a clean sheet in the last game but has otherwise been a reliable presence between the sticks.

2. Kyle Walker (RB)

He should be fresh to start after being rested for the Bournemouth game.

3. Aymeric Laporte (CB)

The Frenchman has established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet this season and has put in multiple solid shifts at the back.

4. Nicolas Otamendi (CB)

The Argentine international brings in a lot of strength to City’s backline and Guardiola should hand him another start after a solid display against Bournemouth.

5. Fabian Delph (LB)

The injury to Zinchenko might open the door for the Englishman to get a start on the left of the back four.

6. Fernandinho (CDM)

The Brazilian is a key cog in City’s midfield and he has defied age to produce consistently impressive performances this season.

7. Ilkay Gundogan (LCM)

The German should be high on confidence after scoring the third goal in the previous outing against the Cherries.

8. Bernardo Silva (RCM)

He got his name on the scoresheet in the last game and should start this one as well.

9. Riyad Mahrez (RW)

Raheem Sterling started the game on Saturday and Guardiola might rotate his squad to hand the Algerian a start.

10. Gabriel Jesus (ST)

The Brazilian hasn’t hit top gear this season but the injury to Aguero might open the door for him to get another opportunity.

11. Leroy Sane (LW)

He was arguably the pick of City’s attackers in the last outing and created plenty of chances with his pace and guile.
