Gossip Girl was an immensely popular CW series that focused on the lives of young Manhattanites. Its success helped cement CW as an industry powerhouse; its cast was memorable and its storylines captivating.

Gossip Girl was canceled after three seasons, yet revived for another run in 2021 under Joshua Safran (showrunner and executive producer for both series), who also wrote and executive produced its original run. This version is based on Cecily von Ziegesar’s best-selling novels as source material for its scripts.

As well as Jordan Alexander as Julien, Whitney Peak as Zoya, Obie (Eli Brown), Aki (Evan Mock), Luna (Zion Moreno) and Savannah Lee Smith as Monet returning for Gossip Girl Season 2, several original cast members returned, such as Michelle Trachtenberg reprising her role of Georgina Sparks.

Gossip Girl reboot is back and taking Manhattan by storm with secrets and scandals of its elite. Season 2 picks up where season one left off, as Julien struggles with his father’s Me Too Movement while Zoya negotiates her relationship with Constance Billard-St. Jude’s girls. Additionally, Audrey (Emily Alyn Lind) and Max’s (Thomas Doherty) polyamorous relationship will be explored further.

Season 2

After an outstanding first season, Gossip Girl reboot was renewed for another run on HBO Max in July 2021 and quickly established itself as its highest-rated original series – breaking records while garnering fiercely loyal fan support.

Jordan Alexander as Julien, Whitney Peak as Zoya, Tavi Gevinson as Dan, Evan Mock as Aki, Thomas Doherty as Obie, Savannah Lee Smith as Monet and Emily Alyn Lind as Audrey all return for season two.

Fans should prepare themselves for plenty of drama this time around, from Julian’s father’s fate and Obie and Zoya’s possible romance triangle to Monet’s planned coup plotting, but perhaps most exciting is Michelle Trachtenberg as Georgina Sparks returning as one of its central figures; her arrival will surely please viewers!

Josh Schwartz co-created the original series alongside Cecily von Ziegesar and is also an executive producer on this reboot. Together they’ve brought their unique brand of magic to this new version of their story saga.
