Goran Ivanisevic is a former professional tennis player and currently the coach of 22-time Grand Slam Champion Novak Djokovic. Ivanisevic himself is a former Wimbledon Champion (2001) and achieved a career-best ranking of World No.2 in men’s singles.
The Croatian star retired from his playing career in 2004 after which he took up coaching as his professional career and has been the chief coach of Novak Djokovic since 2019.
Ivanisevic had a very successful playing career which saw him win 22 ATP singles titles and 9 doubles titles. He holds the record of being the only player to win a Wimbledon singles title as a professional wildcard – a feat he achieved in 2001, the only Grand Slam title in his career as a player. After a successful playing career spanning close to two decades, Ivanisevic retired from the sport in 2004.
Ivanisevic got his first major breakthrough as a coach in 2013 when he became the coach of Marin Cilic. Ivanisevic and Cilic worked together from 2013-2016 and the major highlight of their tenure was the US Open win in 2014.
