The son of WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes and the half-brother of “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes has had a storied career. He has plied his trade in WWE in five different runs and in the time between those runs, he wrestled in the independent circuit with considerable success.

Rhodes left WWE in 2019 for the last time and joined All Elite Wrestling. He hasn’t wrestled in almost a couple of years in AEW. However, if he does return to the ring, he has his dream match that everyone would want to see as well.

Recently CM Punk put out a tweet where he tagged some superstars from the AEW roster. He wanted anyone from the list to face him at AEW Dynamite next week. A few names on the list were Wheeler Yuta, Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler, Bryan Danielson, Tony Nese, and a few more. He surprisingly named Dustin Rhodes on the list of names as well. He only had an objection to facing one man and that was Eddie Kingston.

“You have been a dream match of mine for a while.” – Dustin Rhodes to CM Punk

Dustin Rhodes quote retweeted Punk’s tweet and mentioned how he would love to square off against the former 5-time world champion in WWE.

Rhodes also mentioned that he wanted the match to be more than 20 minutes long. However, he noted that whenever “the storied, passionate match” will happen, it would be worth the wait. Rhodes wrote:

“Gonna tell you something you may not know. You have been a dream match of mine for a while. I believe when the time comes, the storied, passionate match will be worth *****, and perhaps one of the best I have ever had! If we get 20+ minutes. Wouldn’t take anything less.”

It will certainly be a keenly watched match as the two wrestlers are highly-decorated legends in the pro wrestling world.
