The entire quest takes place in the Chasm Underground Mines in Liyue. Zhiqiong will be your companion and travel along with you throughout the quest. After completing the Perils in the Dark world quest, you will automatically get access to this quest. You need to visit Nameless Ruin and speak to Zhiqiong to initiate the proceedings. Zhiqiong will take you to her camp and give complete instructions for the quest. You need to go to a gate as mentioned by Zhiqiong.
Defeat the enemies as required in underground tunnels, caves, and other places. After reaching the zone, Zhiqiong will be there, and you need to use the key provided by Zhiqiong to a stony hall that unlocks the gate.
Now you need to go inside the gate and start the investigation. Also, collect the available Lumenstone Ores. Then you need to purify the large crystal. Use Lumenstone Adjuvant to recharge every mechanism and thus will also purify the large crystal and eliminate all the dark enemies in the zone.
Use Lumenstone Adjuvant on the crystal to recharge it, and defeat the enemies in the zone. Make sure the mechanism is fully charged with 100%. Recharge all 5 mechanisms at the cavern to purify the large crystal and proceed to the next phase of the quest.
Next, you need to defeat the field boss Haftvad the Worm, a Ruin Serpent to progress further in the quest. You need to defeat this boss and deplete his HP below 10% to get to the next objective. Once you defeat the giant Serpent, the next cutscene pops up taking you to the final phase of the quest.
Once the cut scene appears, you need to go back to the Glowing Narrows camp zone and interact with Zhiqiong once again to complete the quest finally. Then report to Muning and interact, then the quest is completed. You will also find Yelan at the same spot after the cutscene ends.
