Mihoyo has officially revealed two new characters, Shenhe and Yun Jin, coming to Genshin Impact in the 2.4 update. Potentially, they could be some of the cracked characters in the game!

Yun Jin and Shenhe have been formally unveiled by Genshin Impact ahead of the highly anticipated 2.3 updates. The developers have followed the tradition of releasing new characters before the release of a big update. Genshin Impact 2.4 patch will include the recently unveiled playable characters Shenhe and Yun Jin.

While many players will be saving their Primogems for the 2.3 update, which will bring Arataki Itto and Gorou to the game, the 2.4 update will also be jam-packed with new content. The free-to-play players will have a tough time in deciding which characters they should wish for or just become a Genshin Impact whale.

Genshin Impact 2.4 Characters – Shenhe and Yun Jin

Shenhe is a Cryo Polearm figure, while Yun Jin is a Geo Polearm character, according to miHoYo’s artwork. Although their rarity hasn’t been officially confirmed, leakers have previously stated that Shenhe is a 5-star character and Yun Jin is a 4-star. Shenhe is also known as 申鶴/ Shinkaku in the Japanese dub, whereas Yun Jin is known as 雲菫/ Unkin. Their seiyuu/voice actors are yet to be confirmed.

However, the long years of cultivation, coupled with the habit of eating divine herbs and drinking the dew of the mountains, have made her more and more distant from earthly life, and she has even been regarded as a mysterious white-haired adeptus.

The occasional sharpness in her personality and the red ropes adorning her body add to her “mystery”. If her past were to be written as a story, there would be multiple versions for sure.

Be it an immortal or a white-haired witch, how will people view this mysterious lady? Her secrets and feelings are as difficult to capture as the drifting clouds in the mountains.

Yun Jin ‧ Stage Lucida

  • She is the director of the Yun-Han Opera Troupe and is also a famous figure in Liyue Harbor’s opera scene.

Yun Jin is known for her sweet singing voice and intricate costumes, as well as her animated and dynamic performances. Whether it’s a delicate and dignified young lady or a mighty and honorable heroine, she can play any role.

What’s even rarer is that this young actress is also a playwright. Other than “The Divine Damsel of Devastation”, the Yun-Han Opera Troupe has performed many other new plays in recent years, all of which were written by Yun Jin.

However, what is surprising is that Yun Jin, who has always displayed a dignified and elegant image, has a little hobby that is not known to the public — she likes listening to rock ‘n’ roll. If you see Yun Jin at a rock ‘n’ roll performance in Liyue Harbor, please refrain from telling the whole world about it. Otherwise, she might get nagged by the elders again.

Genshin Impact 2.4 Characters release date

Considering the current information we have, it is possible to create a rough estimate of when these new characters will be released. According to the current data, Genshin Impact 2.4 update is set to be released on 5 January 2022. So if Shenhe is released on the first banner for the update then we will be able to obtain her during that time. 

But if mihoyo chooses to delay her character banner for the second half of the 2.4 update, then she will be released around 25 January 2022. Similarly, since Yun Jin is potentially going to be a 4-star character, she could be released with Shenhe in her banner.
