Predicted Tottenham Hotspur XI to face Man United in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur took one step closer to making it to the finals of the Carabao Cup with a 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the first leg of the semi-final at Wembley.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men are currently on a goalscoring spree, having beaten Cardiff City 3-0 followed by a 7-0 demolition of Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup.

Spurs are currently 6 points adrift of Liverpool at the top of the table and the fans have every reason to expect a mouth-watering clash when the rampant Lilywhites play host to a resurgent Man United in the Premier League on Sunday.

Spurs beat United 3-0 at Old Trafford earlier in the season and they will be hoping for a similar result this time around.

Team News

Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama are ruled out with injuries while Jan Vertonghen will be pushing for a return from his hamstring injury. Lucas Moura is struggling with a minor knee problem and his selection will be subject to a late fitness test.

Predicted XI

1. Paulo Gazzaniga (GK)

The Argentine shot-stopper has had a couple of good outings between the sticks and Pochettino should hand him a start ahead of Hugo Lloris.

2. Kieran Trippier (RB)

The Englishman had a decent game against Chelsea and he has been a familiar face at the back all season.

3. Toby Alderweireld (CB)

The Belgian has been a reliable presence at the heart of the defence and Pochettino should continue to rely on him.

4. Davinson Sanchez (CB)

The Colombian has struggled with his positioning at times but has otherwise done a fine job at the back.

5. Danny Rose (LB)

He had a good game against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and should be amongst the starters for this one as well.

6. Harry Winks (CDM)

The youngster has done a decent job in his deep position in the midfield and he should continue in the absence of Eric Dier.

7. Christian Eriksen (LCM)

The Dane has added that stability to the midfield besides dictating the play and creating chances with his creativity and vision.

8. Moussa Sissoko (RCM)

The Frenchman has done exceptionally well in a box-to-box attacking role in the midfield and should start again on Sunday.

9. Dele Alli (CAM)

He has always been a livewire in the attacking third and Spurs will need him to be at the top of his game.
