F1 releases calendar for the 2022 season

The schedule for the upcoming 2022 F1 season is here

With just 6 races left in the 2021 F1 calendar, the F1 has released the schedule for the upcoming 2022 season.

This time there is more extravaganza. A total of 23 races have been planned for the 2022 season.

The previous highest was 21 – 2016, 2018 and 2019.

A new Grand Prix has been added as well. Miami International Autodrome will be playing host to the new F1 GP in Miami.

The 2022 calendar begins on the 18th of March, 2022 in Bahrain – Sakhir GP.

The season will end on the 18th of November. The Abu Dhabi GP will finish the proceedings. A total of 8 months.

Taking to Twitter, F1’s official Twitter handle wrote:

“The 2022 #F1 calendar is here! A record-breaking 23 races. A brand new grand prix in Miami. Australia, Canada, Singapore and Japan all return.”

Suzuka and two other locations make a return

The Australian GP which usually starts off things every year, did not take place in the 2020 and 2021 season. It was cancelled due to COVID-19 imposed travel restrictions.

2022 will see the Australian GP return as Race number 3, on the 8th of April.

The Canadian GP was cancelled (in 2020 and 2021) as well due to the coronavirus imposed travel restrictions. It makes a return next year.

And finally, the Japan GP will be taking place on the 7th of October. Suzuka will be making a return after 2 years of absence.
