Arthur Leclerc, the brother of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, is currently completing in Formula 3 with Prema Racing
Arthur Leclerc is a Monégasque racing driver and a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy. Arthur is famous for being the younger brother of F1 driver, Charles Leclerc. The 21-year-old has notched up three race wins so far in his brief F3 career.
Arthur has been in the news recently after pulling off his first win of the 2022 Formula 3 season, seeing off home favourites Zak O’Sullivan and Ollie Bearman for victory in the Feature Race at Silverstone. The Monegasque picked up PREMA Racing’s first win of the year to bring himself back into Championship contention. He had already passed O’Sullivan but was forced to give back the lead due to the move coming just as the Safety Car was deployed. Leclerc re-passed pole-sitter O’Sullivan shortly afterwards and held off the threats from behind to move up to second in the Drivers’ Championship.
Could we see Arthur Leclerc in F1 any time soon?
We could possibly see two Leclercs lining up on the F1 grid very soon. There are strong reports which suggest that Haas could replace their underperforming driver Mick Schumacher as he has started the 2022 season on a poor note. If rumours are to be believed, he could be replaced by younger Leclerc.
Schumacher started the 2022 season with high hopes, given that the Haas car has improved massively, but has been no change in his personal performance. Moreover, he has been a part of two major accidents where his car broke into two parts. The first accident came in the qualifying session of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and the other one at the Monaco Grand Prix.
On the other hand, Arthur endured a difficult first season in F3 after finishing in tenth place with just 79 points to his name. Arthur also managed to win two races in the 2021 season. However, this season, he has shown immense improvement and finds himself placed second overall in the F3 drivers’ championship leaderboard.
