Here is a throwback clip of a young Max Verstappen practising driving in the wet under his father Jos’ guidance.

Max Verstappen‘s father Jos had an integral role to play in shaping his son’s career and there are no two ways about it. In a video that has surfaced on social media, the father-son duo spoke about how young Max Verstappen practised driving in the wet under his father’s guidance. Jos being a former professional racer himself, focused on preparing Max to drive on wet surfaces as it’s one of the toughest challenges in motorsport.

“When it would rain, everyone would pack their bags and go home. I used to wait with Max at the karting arena so that after the rain stops, Max could practice driving on wet surfaces”, Jos says in the video. It has certainly worked wonders for the reigning world champion and he is certainly one level above the rest of the grid when it comes to racing in challenging rainy and wet conditions. One can’t deny the fact that Jos’ vision as a professional racer himself played a key role in this aspect.

Max Verstappen has absolutely dominated F1 in recent years

Max Verstappen has absolutely dominated Formula One in the last couple of years. Two-time F1 champion Verstappen and Red Bull have been at their very best in the last few years and it has come at the expense of top teams like Ferrari and Mercedes. If we take a look at statistics, we would see that Verstappen has got more wins in the last two years (25) than closest rivals Ferrari in the last ten years (23). This is an astounding achievement for Verstappen and establishes his dominance in the F1 circuit. Red Bull and Verstappen’s dominance was pretty evident in this season as well as both cruised to the Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championship titles respectively without much of a challenge from their nearest rivals.

The recently concluded F1 2022 season was also completely dominated by the Red Bull driver, winning his second consecutive F1 World championship. He notched a record 15 grand prix victories in 2022 and also the most Driver of the Day awards. The Dutchman even won the driver of the day award five times in 2022, courtesy of early-season successes in Imola and Miami and later in Hungary, Belgium and the Netherlands.
