Alfa Romeo unveils their F1 C-42 in new livery; Valtteri Bottas reacts

The C-42 will be making its debut in the 2022 Formula One World Championship

Alfa Romeo have officially revealed their new C-42 in its special livery ahead of the new season. The team earlier used camouflage livery during the testing sessions in Barcelona.

The F1 team revealed their new car in a mixture of red, white and black livery on Twitter. Valtteri Bottas and debutant Zhou Guanyu will be behind the steering wheel for Alfa Romeo this season.

Drivers react to their car in the new livery

Valtteri Bottas tweeted immediately after his team revealed the car on Twitter. “Love it. New colours”, Bottas tweeted.

His partner Zhou welcomed the new car on Twitter with a subtle “Hello”.

The Zurich based team have an interesting lineup of drivers for the new season. Veteran F1 driver Valtteri Bottas will be driving for the team for the first time. His partner China’s Zhou Guanyu is a rookie and will be making his F1 debut this season.

Alfa Romeo have Robert Kubica as one of their test drivers. The Polish driver is a veteran and his experience will definitely be useful for the team. The team finished 9th in the Constructors’ Championship last season acquiring just thirteen points. They finished above Haas who were at the bottom with zero.

What’s new in the C-42?

The C42 is an exclusive latest generation F1 car. It is designed to comply with the new technical regulations. It is a Ferrari-engine driven car. C42 is comparatively heavier than its last version, C41. This means it will be challenging for both the new drivers of the team to maintain control. All the new cars designed for the 2022 Championship are heavier than their last version in order to comply with F1’s new technical regulations. The car will make its debut in the 2022 Formula One World Championship.

Alfa Romeo will bank on Bottas’ experience and Zhou’s fearlessness to give them favourable results this season. However, with a newcomer to the team and a rookie in the line-up, this season might turn out to be a learning curve for the Swiss team.
