Lewis Hamilton to take a new engine for Turkish GP 2021

It has just been reported that the Mercedes AMG F1 driver Lewis Hamilton will be taking a new engine for the Turkish GP 2021. Because of this the brit driver has been handed a 10 place grid penalty. Normally, a driver who is taking a new engine has to start from the back. However, Hamilton is changing the Internal Combustion Engine only and not the full power unit.

A racer is allowed to change three engines in a season and if he choses to change beyond that he is handed a grid penalty depending upon the changes made. Hamilton will try to avoid starting from the lower end of the grid by putting in a great performance at the qualifying.

It is a big move done to strengthen his chances of winning his eight championship. Hamilton will also be heading into the final end of the races with a fresh engine.

What to expect from the Turkish GP?

The Turkish GP promises to be a race full of drama. The championship leaders Hamilton and Max Verstappen will also try to outdo each other in an attempt to capture the driver’s championship.
