Is Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time World Champion, ready to leave Mercedes (for Ferrari) after such an outstanding career?

Lewis Hamilton‘s future at Mercedes seems to be uncertain as both parties haven’t yet extended their contract which expires at the end of this season. Hamilton has made a decent start to the season, earning 48 points from four races so far but is still far off from the Red Bull duo of Verstappen and Perez.

The seven-time Champion registered fifth-place finishes in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia before an impressive second place finish at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne followed by a sixth-place finish in Baku last week.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Hamilton has made it clear that he very much sees himself as a part of Mercedes in the long term. There have been speculations about him joining Ferrari, but the British driver has ruled out any such move besides confirming that he has no plans of retiring any time soon. “I don’t plan on stopping any time soon. I’m not at the end of my career, I’m not in the downhill slope of my career. I’m in my prime.” The 38-year-old also specified that he wants to end his career at Mercedes and nowhere else.
