Lando Norris will start in a career-best P2 after qualifying for the 2021 Austrian GP

McLaren youngster Lando Norris is having the season of his life this time around with the team.

The 21-year-old already had two podium finishes this season and is fourth in the F1 driver’s standings. Norris is the only racer to earn points in every Grand Prix this season and he continued his stunning form in Austria.

This was coming after a great P4 qualifying position in last week’s Styrian GP. Norris was moved to P3 after Valtteri Bottas had a penalty but the Brit put a drive of a lifetime to qualify P2 just behind Max Verstappen.

Norris, in the end, was only 0.04 secs behind Verstappen, and Karun Chandhok explained just where the Brit ended up losing time.

Nevertheless, it was quite a performance from the 21-year-old and he had just one thing to say on social media.

Anyone would be at a loss for words, but Norris did have something more to say right after qualifying.

Can Lando Norris win his first F1 GP?

It was incredible to see Norris beat not only Sergio Perez in the other Red Bull but also both Mercedes cars in qualifying.

Staring P2 is great for Norris and the McLarens have been the fastest cars on the straights so far in Austria.

However, Norris has a lot of work to do if he wants his first F1 GP win. Verstappen has been driving on another level as he aims to win his first ever F1 driver’s title.

The race pace might not be there for McLaren too with Perez and the two Mercedes cars looking to hunt Norris down.

Rain could be a factor tomorrow and that would mix things up for sure. Norris, for his part, might not get the win tomorrow if the sun shines but anything can happen if it rains.
