George Russell is making the most of a much-deserved break before F1 action resumes in July

George Russell tried out his hand at badminton – playing a few rallies with Malaysian badminton stalwarts Aaron Chia and Pearly Tan. The badminton players are presently preparing for the Malaysian Open which starts on June 28. On the other hand, Russell will be next in action at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend before heading to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix.

The Mercedes F1 team shared snaps of Russell playing badminton at the Petronas Akademi on their social media handles. “You’re a natural, @GeorgeRussell63! Training with Malaysia’s leading professional players, Pearly Tan and Aaron Chia Teng Fong at the PETRONAS Akademi Badminton Malaysia” – Russell earned praise for his badminton skills, with his team referring to him as a ‘natural’ in the sport.

George Russell will now head back home to the United Kingdom to be a part of the ‘Goodwood Festival of Speed’ this weekend. The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an annual hill climb featuring historic motor racing vehicles held on Goodwood House, West Sussex, England. The event is scheduled to avoid clashing with the Formula One season, enabling fans to see F1 machines and cars and motorbikes from motor racing history climb the hill.

This event will take place from 23-26 June. In this event, Russell will be seen driving an F1 Mercedes up the hill.
