What are the chances of rain at the F1 Austrian GP 2021 ahead of the weekend after last week’s inconsistent weather forecast?

The second of the double header in Spielberg brings us to the F1 Austrian GP 2021, with the commencement of the ninth round of the F1 season.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen won the Styrian GP to make it 4 wins in a row for the leaders. There was a Mercedes 2-3 as Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas completed the podium places.

The race day also was expecting showers, but it didn’t arrive till after the race. The teams have prepared for various strategies during the race if rain intervenes.

According to MyWeather.com , the conditions are again expecting precipitation as we near the weekend. The report says:

“Over the next 7 days and the average daytime maximum temperature will be around 23°C, with a high for the week of 29°C expected on the afternoon of Tuesday 29th. The mean minimum temperature will be 10°C, dipping to its lowest on the morning of Friday 2nd at 6°C. Expect the week ahead to have mixed overhead conditions with some days dry and some seeing a significant amount of rain. “

The race at the Red Bull Ring is sure to get more exciting if rain plays a part over qualifying and the main day.

What happened at the 2021 Styrian GP?

Max Verstappen cruised throughout to comfortably win the Styrian GP to extend his lead at the top to 18 points over Lewis Hamilton. The 7-time Champion will be looking to hit back after a dry spell has seen him not win since the Spanish GP.

The lead in the F1 Constructors’ Championship is now upto 40 points. Red Bull have beating their rivals in pace consistently throughout the season.

Sergio Perez chased third-placed Bottas till the final lap, but the Finn held on for a podium.
