Sebastian Vettel missed the first two races of the season in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia after testing positive for Covid-19

Sebastian Vettel will be back in action after missing the first two races. Vettel has recovered from Covid-19 and will be behind the steering for Aston Martin at the Australian Grand Prix. In Vettel’s absence, Nico Hulkenberg drove for the Aston Martin F1 team in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Aston Martin F1 team had earlier put out an official statement on social media stating, “We are pleased to confirm that Sebastian Vettel is now fit to race and will therefore line up alongside Lance Stroll in Melbourne to kick off his F1 season at the Australian Grand Prix.”

Sebastian Vettel has won the Australian Grand Prix three times in the past – 2011, 2017, and 2018. The 4-time World Champion would be aiming to make a grand comeback by finishing on the podium in Melbourne. Vettel is on the verge of a career milestone – If the German finishes on the podium on Sunday, it will be his 100th career podium.

It will be an uphill task for Vettel to make a podium finish. He is certainly going to face a steep challenge from the likes of Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, and Lewis Hamilton.

What else can we look forward to at the Australian Grand Prix?

F1 resumes this weekend after a short break and we move on from the Middle East to Australia! Let us take a look at what’s in store for us in Melbourne. The burning topic seems to be – will Hamilton get his season back on track? The Brit is aiming for a record eighth F1 championship title after narrowly missing out last season. However, it has been an underwhelming start to the new season and some things definitely need to change if he has to stay in the title race.

There are lots of other aspects to look forward to including the much-awaited return of Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher. Vettel’s return has been confirmed by the Aston Martin F1 team while Schumacher has recovered from the horrific crash in Jeddah and is set to be back doing what he does best!
