Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton – Robert Lewandowski and his answer might surprise a few

Robert Lewandowski was in some dilemma when he was asked to choose between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in a recent interview. Lewandowski was facing the questions of a rapid-fire round where he was made to choose between two things. When it came to choosing between Verstappen and Hamilton, Lewandowski opted for the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen.

Robert Lewandowski has always been an ardent fan of Formula 1. His love and admiration for F1 icon, Michael Schumacher is quite well-known. “I have followed F1 since I was very young and I always remember Michael Schumacher. What he did, what he achieved, was incredible. It was… It was something really incredible”, the Polish star had stated in an earlier interview. Among the current crop of drivers, the new Barcelona striker seems to rate Max Verstappen very highly.

Apart from F1, Lewandowski were made to choose between other sporting icons and leagues. Some of his interesting choices include – Nadal over Federer, Maradona over Pele and NBA over NFL.

Max Verstappen is five places ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the current drivers’ championship

As things stand before tonight’s Hungarian GP, Verstappen is clear of Hamilton on the drivers’ championship leaderboard. Red Bull dominates the drivers’ championship standings despite Sergio Perez not finishing on the podium in France. Max Verstappen leads the standings with 258 points.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc registered a DNF in France but still occupies second place with 178 points. Perez lies in the third spot with 173 – ahead of Carlos Sainz, George Russell, and Lewis Hamilton.

In the constructors’ championship, Red Bull leads the table with 431 points, and Ferrari is significantly behind in second place with 334 points. Mercedes are further behind – they occupy third place, having earned 304 points.
