Vinicius de Jesus is one of the rising Brazilian stars in the MMA circuit but he isn’t fretting about a UFC career
Brazilian MMA star Vinicius de Jesus was on the Blood, Sweat and Tears podcast speaking about his career so far.
The 30-year-old has a chance of winning the vacant LFA Welterweight title against Jaleel Willis. He has fought on Bellator too but is yet to get a chance in the UFC.
Jer Wilson, the host, asked what De Jesus’ thoughts were on the UFC. The Brazilian claimed that the UFC is the biggest ground to prove yourself. However, he wasn’t fretting that he hasn’t been on the promotion yet:
“UFC is the biggest league. That is where they see the legit fighters, the highest levels in the world go there.
“All the world fighters seek to be in the promotion, in the top 10, the top 5.
“I am not frustrated. I am 30 right now, I am not frustrated to not be there yet but I am enjoying the journey.”
The Brazilian believed that he could do well in the UFC after all his experience, and claimed he would be able to take on anyone in the promotion too.

Some quality stars to look up to
De Jesus was also asked about who were his favourite fighters. Being a Brazilian, he was bound to name some stars from the South American country. The Gracie brothers were a couple he named but there were others too:
“There is a bunch of them. The Gracies are the Gods of Jiu Jitsu. Royce Gracie and Rickson Gracie are like old school, they were the pioneers in this whole world.”
The 30-year-old added that Wanderlei Silva and Anderson Silva were two that he watched while he was in his teens.
De Jesus added that Douglas Lima is someone that he wanted to face in the future, and it will be interesting to see what is next for him.
The 30-year-old already has plans in place regarding a future where he isn’t fighting. He has a management company and is working with youngsters to help finish their training too.
