Gillian Robertson also holds a UFC women’s record for most submissions

Canadian UFC star Gillian Robertson is seeking a big record that is held by Charles Oliveira.

The 25-year-old was exclusively speaking to WERMMA and spoke about how her training has changed a bit during the coronavirus pandemic.

The UFC star last defeated Cortney Casey at UFC on ESPN 11: Blaydes vs Volkov. The Savage, as she is called, got the win via a rear-naked choke.

She now has four wins via submission in her short UFC career, which is a women’s record. Robertson was asked how she felt creating history at such a young age, but the Canadian had a big target on her mind.

Charles Oliveira holds the record with 14 submissions and Robertson was keen on achieving that:

“This is just the beginning.

“I know Charles Oliveira is at 14 so I got 10 more at least. I gotta catch up to him, I am just trying to set that record in general. Like you said, I am just 25 and this is just the beginning.”

Robertson also spoke about possibly getting into the title frame somewhere in the future. A run of four-five straight wins could see her achieve that and it will be interesting to see who she might face next.

Two of the best in the world

She was also asked some questions posted by Instagram fans, and one was about which fights she loved to watch.

Robertson named Amanda Nunes as the Greatest of All-time but she was a little hesitant when trying to name a male star.

Jon Jones was one name she came out with, and well, both Nunes and Jones are two of the best ever.

Nunes is rightly called as the GOAT while Jones could also be called that. They both have dominated divisions since coming into the UFC and both hold UFC titles and records at the moment.
