Santo Curatolo believes he is set for a UFC call-up after another impressive first-round win
Santo Curatolo recently picked up the Cage Fury FC Flyweight title after defeating James Mancini.
This was his fifth win on the spin and he is undefeated in his MMA career. Curatolo also has won all his fights in the first round itself, and he believes big things are set for him.
The 25-year-old is one of the rising stars in the MMA world and was back to speak on the Hair and the Beard podcast.
While Curatolo was congratulated for becoming a champion, he was asked about signing for the UFC. Curatolo claimed things are in the works but he couldn’t confirm anything yet:
“Nothing has been confirmed. I still haven’t seen a contract. I haven’t spoken to anybody from the UFC, so, I mean it’s not definitely confirmed but CFFC and my coach are telling me that there’s a 0% chance I don’t get a call.
“It just hasn’t happened yet and I am waiting patiently and that’s it when the time comes, I’ll be ready.”
The youngster added that he felt it would happy any day and added that Dana White would love him a lot since he is marketable and easy to promote.
Want to feature on the big cards
The 25-year-old is confident in his abilities and his dream is to become one of the greatest Flyweights in the history of the UFC.
That confidence was brimming when he spoke about which UFC card he wanted to feature in. Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Justin Gaethje takes place at UFC 254, and that is a card he wanted to be part of:
“I got an intuition, I was seeing the upcoming fights. October 24th, Khabib vs Gaethje, I want to be on that card. I’m just gonna put that out there and let’s just see what happens.
“I just want to see what happens.”
Curatolo was open to featuring on the Israel Adesanya vs Paulo Costa card too, but this was just a feeling for him.
The 25-year-old has a lot of ability and he seems to be the real deal. There are many upcoming stars in the MMA world and Curatolo could make a grand entrance in the UFC.
He might not be a UFC star now but he is a name to watch out for.
