Bournemouth player ratings vs Huddersfield Town
Bournemouth ended their losing streak of four games in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Huddersfield Town at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday night.
Callum Wilson netted his eighth goal of the season from Ryan Fraser’s free-kick to put the hosts in front and the duo combined once again to double the advantage for the home side, Callum Wilson setting up Fraser with a perfect pass who didn’t make any mistake in guiding the ball past the goalkeeper.
Huddersfield kept probing away and pulled one back before halftime as Terence Kongolo found the net with his header. The Terriers pushed for the equaliser in the second half and they almost found one but Asmir Begovic dived full length to keep out Aaron Mooy’s low drive from close range.
The victory propelled Eddie Howe’s men to 6th in the standings, above the likes of Manchester United and Everton for at least 24 hours while Huddersfield slipped down to 17th, just hovering above the relegation zone.

1. Asmir Begovic (7/10)
Looked fairly safe and secure between the sticks and preserved Bournemouth’s lead with a good low save in the second half to deny Aaron Mooy.
2. Simon Francis (7.5/10)
A good outing for the right-back. Strong in the air and put in some good challenges to keep the opposition at bay.
3. Nathan Ake (7.5/10)
Didn’t make any notable errors and looked solid and composed at the back; couldn’t clear the ball away with his head that led to the goal but it was hardly his error; stamped his authority over the opposition with his physicality.
4. Steve Cook (7/10)
Another solid outing for the Englishman. Won the balls in the air and put in a few good tackles.
5. Charlie Daniels (6.5/10)
A decent performance from the veteran. Made some good interceptions and contributed to the attacking play with overlapping runs and passes.
6. Jefferson Lerma (7/10)
Dispossessed the opposition to win back possession for his team in midfield; looked quite good with his passing and always a threat with his strength and aerial ability.
7. Lewis Cook (6/10)
Looked good in possession but didn’t have much of an impact on the game. Lacked energy.
8. Ryan Fraser (8.5/10)
Set up Wilson for the first goal with a brilliant free-kick; was at the right place and at the right time to combine with Wilson and double the advantage.
9. David Brooks (6/10)
Not his best performance of the season by any means. Struggled to get into the game and looked a bit off with his passing. Had little impact and was rightly subbed off.
10. Joshua King (7/10)
Decent outing for him. Sent his effort wide of the mark but combined well with Wilson and Fraser and was always a threat up front.
11. Callum Wilson (8/10)
Beat the offside trap to time his run to perfection and headed it in from Fraser’s free-kick; showed good awareness to pick out Fraser’s run for the second goal.
