Liverpool player ratings vs Leicester City: Who impressed and who did not?
Jurgen Klopp’s men continued their amazing run in the Premier League and beat Leicester City 2-1 at home to secure their fourth consecutive win in a row.
The Reds dominated the initial moments as Sadio Mane put Liverpool ahead in the 10th minute, tapping in Andrew Robertson’s cut-back into the box.
Leicester came back into the game with some good passage of play and Demarai Gray forced a save from Alisson midway through the first half but Liverpool once again had the final say just at the stroke of half-time, when Roberto Firmino punished some sloppy defending and headed in the second goal.
The Foxes were given a lifeline in the second half when Rachid Ghezzal took advantage of Alisson’s bizarre mistake in the penalty box.
The Foxes pushed for an equalizer but Liverpool held onto their lead with authority to protect their perfect record.

Alisson (6.5/10)
The Brazilian looked pretty solid at the back and made a couple of good stops but his schoolboy error was punished by Rachid Ghezzal in the second half.
Trent Alexander Arnold (7/10)
The youngster had a good game and looked solid defensively while he was not afraid to go forward.
Joe Gomez (7/10)
The Englishman was sloppy at times and was guilty of not marking the attackers tightly. However, he was better in the second half and came up with good overall performance.
Virgil Van Dijk (6.5/10)
It was an average day at the office for the Dutchman and his back pass put Alisson in a fix which led to the goal. Apart from that, his positioning was not of the highest standard.
Andrew Robertson (7.5/10)
The Scotsman foxed Ricardo Pereira to supply the assist for Sadio Mane and put up a solid display at the back.
Georginio Wijnaldum (7/10)
The Dutchman looked good on the ball and put up an impressive performance, winning the ball and sprinting forward down the right. He joined the attack and tried to link the play as well.
Jordan Henderson (6.5/10)
Henderson played a defensive role in the midfield. He dispossessed the opposition on several occasions and was neat with his passing but did not pose much threat in terms of the attack.
James Milner (7/10)
The former English international delivered crosses into the box with precision and linked up play effectively with the attackers up front.
Mohamed Salah (6.5/10)
The talismanic Egyptian did not have the best of days up front. He missed a golden chance early in the first half and often dropped deep to carry the ball forward.
Sadio Mane (8/10)
The Senegalese forward was impressive once again with his constant running in the final third and kept his composure to score Liverpool’s first goal.
Roberto Firmino (8/10)
The Brazilian got his name on the scoresheet for the first time this season with a brilliant header. Apart from that, he was active and tried to link the play with his teammates.

Joel Matip (5/10)
Came on late in the second half in place of Alexander-Arnold to protect Liverpool’s lead.
Xherdan Shaqiri (6/10)
The Swiss international did not have too much time to make an impact. He was tidy with his runs in the final third.
Naby Keita (5.5/10)
Looked his usual energetic self in the midfield.
