Stan Wawrinka

The 3-time Grand Slam champion has not had too many memorable performances this year. However, he played some fantastic tennis to reach the semi-finals in Metz 2022 with wins against Joao Sousa, Daniil Medvedev, and Mikael Ymer.

At the recently-concluded Astana Open, Wawrinka crashed out in the first round following a loss against French veteran Adrian Mannarino in three sets 6-1, 2-6, 3-6. The 37-year-old will be looking to get back on song at Antwerp.

Richard Gasquet

The 36-year-old won in Antwerp back in 2016 but has lost in the first round in his last three visits. Gasquet made it to the semi-finals of the Geneva Open in May and the quarter-finals at the Open Sud de France, the Grand Prix Hassan II, Estoril Open, and the Winston-Salem Open.

The world No. 82 is coming into the tournament on the back of a first-round exit at the Firenze Open. He lost to Brandon Nakashima in straight sets.

Head-to-Head and Prediction

The head-to-head scoreline currently stands at 2-1 in favor of Richard Gasquet. The Frenchman won their previous encounter at the 2015 Wimbledon in a fascinating five-set thriller. Seven years later, we might see the two experienced campaigners provide another mouth-watering clash.

Prediction: Stan Wawrinka to win in three sets.
