John Travolta is one of the most popular American actors who rose to fame in the early 70s. The American actor made his name with a sitcom called ‘Welcome Back, Kotter‘. Travolta has also been a part of various movies like ‘Get Shorty,’ ‘Broken Arrow,’ ‘Phenomenon,’ etc. Apart from being a renowned actor, John has been in the headlines for several controversies throughout his life. This primarily includes allegations of being gay.
Not only his sexual orientation has been in question, but he has also faced allegations of abusing his gay partners. In 2012, an unknown person accused the actor of sexually assaulting him and battery. The case against Travolta got worse when a second person joined the plea.
In 2014, the co-pilot of John Travolta, Doug Gotterba, alleged that he had a six-year affair with him. The affair allegedly started in the early 1980s, when Doug was working for him. Gotterba stopped working for Travolta in 1987 and signed a “termination agreement” that included a “confidentiality clause.”
The co-pilot contested the legitimacy of the confidentiality clause when he stated his intentions to write a tell-all book about the affair he had with Travolta. The ‘Pulp Fiction‘ actor refuted the allegations and responded by claiming that it was a blackmailing attempt for financial gain.

The rumors of Travolta being gay surfaced in the early 1980s when he was accused by some associated people.
Since the commencement of the rumors in 1980, John Travolta has always denied them. However, in 2010 actress Carrie Fisher fueled these rumors again by stating that John Travolta is openly gay. This made the whole case brew again. However, all these rumors found a solid base in the year 2017.
A cover story in Time Magazine alleged that John Travolta indulged in “promiscuous homosexual behavior,” and that he would be exposed if he were to defect from the church. This was before the battery claims appeared. Travolta has been subjected to a never-ending stream of allegations that he is hiding his homosexuality. John has never openly confirmed these allegations. So, the true nature of these rumors can not be verified.
