Predicted 4-2-3-1 Arsenal XI to face Vorskla in the Europa League

Arsenal extended their unbeaten run to 17 games across all competitions with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.

Unai Emery’s men are currently top of their group in the Europa League and the Gunners will be looking to get back to winning ways after being held to a 0-0 draw by Sporting Lisbon in their last outing before the international break.

The Gunners will be strong favourites to stretch their unbeaten run to 18 games when they make the trip to Ukraine to face Vorskla. Arsenal won the reverse fixture 4-2 against the Ukrainian opposition and they will be looking to stamp their authority once again.

Team News

Unai Emery has as many as six players on the injury table ahead of the Europa League clash and the Spaniard has plenty to think about given that he has the all-important north London derby coming up next Sunday.

Nacho Monreal is sidelined for the next 10 days as he continues to struggle with a hamstring issue while Alexandre Lacazette and is doubtful to feature after missing the game against Bournemouth. Danny Welbeck has already been ruled out with a long-term ankle injury.

Laurent Koscielny and Konstantinos Mavropanos are unlikely to feature as they are yet to regain full fitness while right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner might also miss the trip to Ukraine with a hamstring problem.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Unai Emery

Predicted XI

1. Petr Cech (GK)

The veteran has lost his position to Bernd Leno as the team’s first-choice between the sticks but he will be expected to start in the Europa League.

2. Hector Bellerin (RB)

He was very impressive in the win against Bournemouth and there is no reason why Emery should bench him.

3. Rob Holding (CB)

He looked quite solid and composed playing in a back five in the last game and should retain his spot in the eleven.

4. Shkodran Mustafi (CB)

The German international looked a bit rash and rusty in the last outing and will be expected to put in a better shift in the Europa League.

5. Sead Kolasinac (LB)

The Bosnian put in a lot of effort against Bournemouth and bagged an assist.

6. Matteo Guendouzi (CDM)

Lucas Torreira is likely to be rested for the game against Spurs on Sunday which should open the door for the Frenchman to get a start.

7. Mohamed Elneny (CDM)

He has been a regular for the Europa League games and will probably play in place of Granit Xhaka who is likely to be given a break to be fresh for Sunday’s game.

8. Alex Iwobi (LW)

The Nigerian impressed with his energy and link-up play against Bournemouth and deserves a start in the Europa League.

9. Aaron Ramsey (CAM)

The Welshman came on as a substitute in the last game in the Premier League and Emery should field him as the playmaker for this one.

10. Emile Smith Rowe (RW)

The youngster made his debut in the Europa League this season and scored a goal in one of the games, which should prompt Emery to give him another go.
