Arsenal FC vs Watford predictions: Arsenal FC line-up

Arsenal travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford on Monday as Unai Emery eyes a top-four finish this season in the Premier League.

The Gunners put one step in the semi-finals of the Europa League after a 2-0 victory over Napoli at the Emirates Stadium in the first leg of the quarter-finals. Emery will now hope his team gets back to winning ways in the league after a disappointing loss at Everton last weekend.

Watford, meanwhile, are a team full of confidence at the moment and will look to beat Arsenal on Monday after booking a place in the FA Cup final.

Team News

Emery could now be sweating over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s availability after the Gabonese limped down the tunnel following Arsenal’s victory over Napoli.

Sokratis picked up his tenth yellow card of the season at Everton and will subsequently miss the games against Watford and Crystal Palace.

Granit Xhaka missed the Napoli game and remains a doubt but Lucas Torreira has served his three-game suspension and is available for selection on Monday.

Probable Arsenal XI

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: Unai Emery

Bernd Leno (GK)

Leno has cemented his place in the Premier League and should be in goal on Monday.

Ainsley Maitland Niles (RWB)

Maitland-Niles has been in fantastic form off late and will hope to continue as games come thick and fast for Arsenal.

Shkodran Mustafi (RCB)

Mustafi was poor against Everton but he will have to be at his best at Watford, especially with Sokratis suspended.

Laurent Koscielny

Laurent Koscielny (CB)

Koscielny returned from injury against Napoli and dished out a colossal performance in central defence. He’ll have to be at his sublime best to stop Troy Deeney and co. on Monday.

Nacho Monreal (LCB)

Monreal struggled royally at Everton but after an assured display against Napoli, he’ll be raring to produce a solid performance in the upcoming league fixture.

Sead Kolasinac (LWB)

The Bosnian has flourished at left wing-back for the Gunners, using his pace, energy and aggression to terrorise the opposition full-back. He is a certain starter for next week’s game.

Lucas Torreira

Lucas Torreira (CM)

Torreira produced a fantastic performance in the win over Napoli and will be looking to make his presence felt in the game at Watford.

Aaron Ramsey (CM)

The Welshman starred against Napoli and should keep his place in the team on Monday.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (RW)

Mkhitaryan has been poor in the last few games but the upcoming fixture could be a chance to rediscover his mojo and guide the Gunners to a much-needed victory.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Alex Iwobi (LW)

Iwob’s pace, trickery and movement could cause problems for the Watford backline. He should start at right wing.
