Ember Moon Career
Resse was introduced to professional wrestling by her grandfather, and she began training under Skandor Akbar in 2007. She was also trained at Booker T’s Pro Wrestling Alliance in Houston, Texas.
Moon debuted for the PCW on November 10, 2007, under Athena’s ring name, teaming with Mace Malone in a losing match against Claudia and Mike Foxx.
Ember wrestled for several independent promotions named Women Superstars Uncensored, All American Wrestling, NCW, ROH, AIW, IPW, and ACW, where she won the ACW American Joshi Championship.
Resse was signed by WWE in September 2015 and was assigned by developmental territory, NXT. She made her debut for the promotion on October 10 at an NXT house show in a tag team match.
At NXT Take Over, she defeated Peyton Royce during a dark match under the new ring name of “Ember Moon” on June 8, 2016. She made her television debut at NXT Take Over: Brooklyn II, defeating Billie Kay.
Moon won the NXT Women’s Championship in a fatal four-way match defeating Royce, Nikki Cross, and Kairi Sane. It was her first title for WWE.
Resse made her main roster debut just after WrestleMania 34 by teaming with Raw Women’s Champion Nia Jax and defeated Alexa Bliss and Mickie James.
