My personal opinion about the game was it was one of the most underrated open-world games of the last generation. The game nailed the desert open world with barely any resources for survival and also the environmental effects were top-notch. Special shout out to the brutal hand-to-hand and car combat of that game.
The other inspiration for this game might be the latest Ubisoft open-world game based on a movie franchise i.e. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The game world was meticulously built which reflected the lore and environment of the movies. I am pretty sure if the Dune Awakening gameplay follows the same trend, it would be a huge success as not only an adapted game but something that can stand on its own.
