The 22-year-old English midfielder is a product of Leicester’s youth academy that he joined aged 9. Barnes was still in the U-23s when he was loaned out to Milton Keynes Dons in 2017.

Upon his return, he was promoted to the first-team but was immediately sent on loan to Barnsley. He was recalled midway through the season but didn’t feature much for Leicester in the remainder of the season.

A similar loan deal followed in 2018 to West Brom. Again, he was recalled midway through the season. He was made a part of the first-team and safe to say he did not fail to impress. Barnes has played a total of 67 games for the Foxes, scoring 9 and assisting 12 (source – Transfermarkt).

He has featured a couple of times for the England youth sides and was recently called up to the senior team for the upcoming friendlies and UEFA Nations League fixtures.
