Here is everything you need to about the new Digimon game. The new survival tactical Digimon Survive is finally here
From the early Digimon World games on PlayStation to the more later critically acclaimed Digimon games, the Digimon franchise has a long history in video games. As the franchise continues to expand with new anime shows, the upcoming Digimon Survive game appears to be a quite different experience.
Digimon titles have deviated so far from what their rivals normally follow, but they are also never limited to a specific genre or formula. Most games are one-of-a-kind and fascinating adventures set in the world of Digimon.
Digimon Survive Release Date
Bandai Namco has confirmed that the upcoming tactical role-playing game Digimon Survive will be released on July 29, 2022 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The date was revealed in a new producer update for the game, hosted by Kazumasa Habu, the producer. Before confirming the release date, Habu apologized in the video for the delayed information on the game. He also stated that the corporation plans to share more “exciting news.”
Digimon Survive Gameplay
Digimon Survive is a strategy RPG with a major visual novel element that makes up the majority of the game. The studio stated that the overall experience will have a “volume of visual novel and tactical battles that is about 7:3.”
Battles take place through turn-based action, with up to ten units available for deployment. Players will be able to move their Digimon over a grid and use SP to activate skills and Digivolve. There will be 113 Digimon that can be trained, with many of them becoming your partner Digimon through interactions.
Digimon Survive was first announced in July 2018 and was planned to be released last year before being postponed. Survive will blend the realms of visual novels and turn-based strategic RPG games to offer what appears to be a game more closely tied to the anime than anything else released in the past. The plot follows protagonist Takua Momozuka as he is randomly transferred to a world populated with Digimon, leading to a thrilling journey packed with the iconic monsters.
