Tottenham Hotspur predicted XI vs Fulham: Who will start for Spurs?

Tottenham Hotspur got their Premier League campaign off to a winning start as they beat Newcastle United 1-2 at St. James’ Park last weekend. Now, however, they must get set to face their London rivals Fulham at Wembley.

The Cottagers made quite a splash in the recently concluded transfer window as they wrapped up a number of high-profile signings. In fact, if one compares the extent of the two clubs’ businesses this summer, they are as different as chalk and cheese.

Unfortunately for Fulham, they lost in an underwhelming fashion against Crystal Palace but now, it will be interesting to see how they play against Tottenham.

Team News

Son Heung-min is currently on international duty with South Korea for the ongoing Asian Games, meaning he won’t be a part of the matchday squad.

Harry Winks, Juan Foyth and Cameron Carter-Vickers are yet to recover from injuries while Victor Wanyama could be out due to a knee problem. Erik Lamela is also set to miss out after failing to feature against Newcastle due to a muscular injury.

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur XI to face Fulham

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Hugo Lloris (GK)

Lloris is Tottenham’s trusty No.1 and he should find himself between the sticks against Fulham this weekend.

Kieran Trippier (RB)

Trippier enjoyed a fantastic campaign with England in the World Cup and he should return to the starting XI. Serge Aurier was deployed in this position last time out, meaning Trippier could receive a start in this one.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

Sanchez is a dominant force at the back and he will be tasked with keeping Fulham’s unpredictable attackers at bay.

Jan Vertonghen (CB)

Vertonghen should be deployed alongside Sanchez as they are an impregnable force at the back for Tottenham.

Ben Davies (LB)

Davies’ explosive runs down the left-side make him a formidable attacking force. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how he fares against Fulham’s pacy wide players.

Mousa Dembele (DM)

Dembele should receive a start after Moussa Sissoko was deployed in this role last weekend.

Eric Dier (DM)

Although Luke Amos made a splendid debut against Newcastle, Dier’s experience and defensive nous speak volumes. Hence, he should be deployed in his usual role.

Dele Alli (LW)

Alli scored a goal last weekend and he should find himself on the left-wing.

Christian Eriksen (AM)

Eriksen is one of the best creative midfielders in the Premier League and he must put his playmaking skills to good use against Fulham.

Lucas Moura (RW)

Moura started the previous game as well and he should receive another chance to start on the right-wing.
