In reply he always said “football is my wife and baseball is my mistress.” In 2001, Sanders ended up retiring from baseball.

He was a defensive back and in his 14 seasons in the NFL he recorded 53 interceptions, 22 touchdowns and 784 receiving yards. Sanders called it quits from his NFL career in 2005 with the Baltimore Ravens

Sanders has had a rather short coaching career as he started back in 2012. He was the head coach of several high-schools like Trinity College, A Academy and Prime Prep Academy. He was with Trinity College till 2020.

In 2020, he got an offer from Jackson State University. On September 21st 2020 it was announced that Sanders has signed with the Jackson State Tigers as their head coach. In his college coaching career Sanders has a record of 9 wins and 4 losses so far.
