Here is everything you should know about the new killer coming to Dead By Daylight called The Artist. Find out his Perks and abilities here!
It’s time for another Dead by Daylight chapter, and this time there’s a new survivor and a new killer to look forward to. Although the official release isn’t yet out, if you’re a PC player, you can check out the Player Test Build to see what’s new in the Portrait of a Murder chapter. There’s also a map named Eyrie of Crows to look forward to, in addition to the two new characters. You can also check out Dead by Daylight Survivor Tier list and Back 4 Blood Character Tier List.
One of the biggest draws of a new chapter is a selection of perks, and The Artist, who is the new killer and Jonah Vasquez, the survivor, will each come with three of them. You don’t have to play as these characters to enjoy their benefits in Dead by Daylight, so you’ll eventually be able to unlock them for everyone, which is probably the biggest draw. Let’s take a look at the three new killer perks that are being introduced in this new chapter, which have the ability to shake up the game’s meta.
Dead By Daylight New Perks
Grim Embrace
Unlocking this perk makes it available in the Bloodweb of all Killers Your act of servitude to The Entity has not gone unnoticed. Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, you gain a token. Upon reaching 4 tokens Grim Embrace activates.
The Entity blocks all generators for 20 seconds. The Obsession’s aura is revealed to you for 4 seconds.

May be unlocked in the Bloodweb of The Artist from level 30+ or in the Shrine of Secrets
Scourge Hook: Pain
Unlocking this perk makes it available in the Bloodweb of all Killers. Overwhelming pain reverberates outwards into chaos.
At the start of the trial, up to 4 random hooks are changed into scourge hooks. You see their auras in white.
Any time a Survivor is hooked on a scourge hook, the generator with the most progress explodes, instantly losing 95`, progress and will start to regress. Survivors repairing the generator will scream, revealing their location.

May be unlocked in the Bloodweb of The Artist from level 35+ or in the Shrine of Secrets
Hex: Pentimento
Unlocking this perk makes it available in the Bloodweb of all Killers.
You reveal the true power of the Totems, hidden within their remains.
Players see the aura of destroyed Totems. You can perform a ritual on a destroyed Totem to resurrect it as a Rekindled Totem. The more Rekindled Totems that exist, the greater their effects.
- 1 Rekindled Totem: Reduces Survivors’ repair speed by 20%. ATTR
- 2 Rekindled Totems: Reduces Survivors’ healing speed by 20%.
- 3 Rekindled Totems: Reduces Survivors’ recovery speed from being downed by 20%.
- 4 Rekindled Totems: Reduces Survivors’ exit gate opening speed by 20%.
- 5 Rekindled Totems: All Totems are blocked by the Entity. When a Rekindled Totems is removed, its remains are consumed by The Entity.

The new killer and the New perks will certainly change the game’s meta. We are excited to see how The Artist will shake up Dead By Daylight.
