After making it to their first ever Premier League campaign, Huddersfield Town have retained their spot to compete at the highest level once again.
David Wagner’s side caused some major upsets in England last season, beating Manchester United and drawing against eventual champions Manchester City. They scored 37 points to finish 16th, marginally escaping the drop. The Terriers will now be looking to build on their mid-table finish to break into the top ten.
In order to do so, the German manager would have to make a few additions to his squad. The Terriers were stale and toothless in front of goal, scoring a measly 28 times and conceding 58 across the campaign. Some fresh faces would surely help add some firepower to the front line.
Recent reports suggest that Huddersfield Town are interested in signing Egyptian winger Ramadan Sobhi from Stoke City. The Egyptian FA had given permission to the winger to complete his medical ahead of the move.
Considering Stoke have now been relegated to the Championship, a move to the Premier League club looks like a sensible option for the young winger. He was signed from Egyptian club Al-Ahly by Stoke and he seems to be quite talented.
He made 12 appearances for the Potters in the league last season, scoring 2 goals and grabbing the attention of many.
However, Ramadan’s career has stalled slightly at Stoke. The Cairo-born youngster did not receive adequate game time under both Mark Hughes and Paul Lambert, but at 21, he has ample time on his side to grow into a regular starter in the top-flight.
The youngster would surely help improve the Terrier’s offensive numbers next season. With that in mind, Huddersfield must go all out for him. Given the circumstances, it is only a matter of Wagner snapping him up at the earliest.
Nicknamed “Ramadona” by the Egyptian fans, Sobhi will be representing the Pharaohs at the World Cup this summer, alongside fellow Egyptian attacker Mohammed Salah.
