Based on Tony Hillerman’s Leaphorn and Chee novels, Graham Roland (Jack Ryan) and John Wirth (Hell on Wheels, Hap and Leonard) serve as key creatives; its executive producers include George R.R. Martin and Robert Redford.

Zahn McClarnon and Kiowa Gordon will reprise their roles of Joe Leaphorn, a Navajo tribal police lieutenant, and Jim Chee, his partner in investigating two major crimes that coincide. As their investigations converge, however, they must confront their spiritual beliefs as part of a crucial mission to discover who committed both crimes.

Jessica Matten will reprise her role of Bernadette Manuelito, an intelligent and resourceful Navajo police sergeant; Joseph Runningfox will play Henry Leaphorn (Joe’s father); while Nicholas Logan from Longmire and Creepshow returns as Colton Wolf. Directors Chris Eyre and Sanford Bookstaver return, with Paul Elliott known for his cinematographic skills on No Country for Old Men and House of Cards returning as cinematographer for filming duties.

Star Trek: Voyager actress Jeri Ryan has joined Dark Winds season 2 cast as Rosemary Vines, a newly introduced character this season. She will join A Martinez (Longmire and Days of Our Lives), Joseph Runningfox from The Politician and Nicholas Logan from Dopestick as recurring cast members.
