Leeds United Prediction: Probable XI to face Millwall

Leeds United look to get their Championship promotion campaign back on track on Tuesday when Millwall arrive at Elland Road.

The Whites suffered back-to-back defeats to Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers, missing the opportunity to regain their position at the top of the Championship. They remain a point behind leaders West Brom, but the gap between them and the play-off spots is just four points, with Marcelo Bielsa’s men winning just once in seven league games.

Meanwhile, Millwall are unbeaten in their last five league games and will look to stage an upset at Elland Road in midweek.

Gaetano Berardi was absent from the bench against QPR due to an injury and remains doubtful for the upcoming game.

Kalvin Phillips was sent off in the 1-0 defeat to QPR, with the straight red card bringing about a three-match ban that will see him miss the home clashes against Millwall and Wigan, plus the trip to Nottingham Forest.

Kiko Casilla (GK)

Casilla will be desperate to keep a clean sheet at home on Tuesday. He is the Whites’ No.1 and should start.

Luke Ayling (RB)

Ayling has nailed down his position at right-back. He’s a certainty to be a part of Bielsa’s backline against Millwall.

Ben White (CB)

White has been a consistent performer for Leeds United throughout the season and should retain his place in central defence.

Liam Cooper (CB)

A leader at the back, Cooper must start alongside White in central defence and the duo must look to keep the Millwall attackers at bay.

Ezgjan Alioski (LB)

Alioski came on as a substitute in Leeds’ 1-0 loss to QPR last time out. However, he could start the upcoming fixture at left-back.

Stuart Dallas (CDM)

With Phillips handed a three-game ban for a straight red card at QPR, Dallas could take his position in the midfield against Millwall.

Helder Costa (RW)

Costa adds flair and pace to the Leeds attacking ranks. He’s become an important player for Bielsa of late and is a certainty to start on the right flank.

Pablo Hernandez (RCM)

Hernandez has had injury problems this season, affecting his rhythm. When fit, however, the Spaniard is an asset to the Whites.

Mateusz Klich (LCM)

Klich likes to pick up important spaces on the pitch and exploit the opposition’s weaknesses. He will retain his place in Bielsa’s XI.

Jack Harrison (LW)

Harrison has improved by leaps and bounds this season, nailing down his position in the starting XI. He will be crucial in opening up Millwall at Elland Road.

Patrick Bamford (ST)

Bamford looks bereft of confidence and energy of late. He endured a poor outing against QPR, missing a spot-kick as well as a couple of chances. However, the 26-year-old is Bielsa’s only option up front and will start against the Lions.
