The Chicago White Sox are an MLB team based in Chicago, Illinois. The White Sox are a part of the American League’s Central Division.
They ply their trade at the Guaranteed Rate Field, which has been their home ground since the year 1991.
The White Sox were initially known as Sioux City Cornhuskers, when they were established in 1894. They got affiliated with the American League in 1900, but were known as the Chicago White Stockings.
Three years later they came to be known as Chicago White Sox. The team has gone on to win the World Series Title 3 times. Their first win came in the year 1906, and their second in 1917.
What followed next was an 88-year drought that ended in 2005, when they won their third championship.
Besides this, they have won the West Division title twice and the Central Division title thrice.
With an overall record of 9318 wins and 9240 losses, they stand number 11 in the all-time list of MLB win-loss records.
The White Sox are owned by billionaire businessman Jerry Reinsdorf. Former MLB player Tony La Russa is their manager.
