Why Chelsea should sign Isco to replace Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard’s move to Real Madrid looks imminent now as the Belgian has been quoted saying he has made a decision about his future. An offer of £300,000-a-week from Chelsea has been rejected by the Belgian. As such, he has been given assurances by Real Madrid that a bid would be made for him in the summer.

According to reports, Chelsea will demand a fee upwards of £100million to let their star man leave and on-loan midfielder Matteo Kovacic could be involved in the deal. Chelsea should anyway pass on the latter at the end of the season and look for somebody better. The Blues should focus on bringing Isco at Stamford Bridge.

The Spaniard has had a tough season so far with just five starts in the league. He has fallen out of favour at the Bernabeu and failed to get the game time that he would’ve wanted. According to a report from Italy, Juventus are interested in the player and will look to reunite him with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Isco would be a very good player under Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea. The 26-year-old is one of the best creative players in the world and could fit either on the wing or in front of the likes of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho. His quick feet, ability to dribble past opponents and vision to pick out a teammate with a pass is incredible.

Under Zinedine Zidane last season, Isco started 21 games for Real and scored seven times in the league and also picked up seven assists in the process. He also started in the Champions League final against Liverpool, which Madrid won.

The other option Chelsea could have is Marco Asensio. The youngster had a breakthrough season for Real Madrid last year. The 23-year-old scored six goals and provided six assists in 19 starts for the club.

He has featured on both wings for the team but has been extremely effective on the left-hand side. Asensio possesses great pace, awareness, and understanding of attacking transitions. He often involves his teammates to create chances in and around the box with his smart lay-offs around the box.

But the main issue with the 23-year-old is his finishing. The Spaniard has averaged just 1.5 shots per goal this season and has found the net just once in 17 appearances.

Isco will come in with more experience at the top-level and is currently a better all-around player than his Real Madrid and Spain teammate. He has played over 300 games over the last decade and has everything it takes to be a massive success in the Premier League.

Hence, Chelsea should push hard for Isco to be included in the Eden Hazard deal instead of Marco Asensio.
